Tanzania Safari Tour

6 days/5 nights - begins and ends in Arusha

Tanzania Safari Tour

Monday: Arusha - Lake Manyara
You will be collected from Arusha, and driven to Lake Manyara, for dinner and an overnight stay at the Lake Manyara Serena Lodge. Lake Manyara National Park is consumed by the shallow, alkaline lake. The land portion of the Park is situated between the lake and the sheer rock walls of the Rift Valley escarpment that tower above. The park is a bird watchers paradise, and the lush forests are the best places to see leopards.

Tuesday & Wednesday: Ngorongoro
Morning game drives within Lake Manyara National Park with breakfast and lunch at the lodge. After lunch drive through to the Ngorongoro Serena for 2 nights, including meals. The crater is a huge collapsed volcano and has a spectacular abundance of wildlife, including Tanzania's last remaining black rhino, making it a wonder of the natural world.

Thursday & Friday: Serengeti
After breakfast, depart with a picnic lunch for the Serengeti National Park. En route visit the Olduvai Gorge. Arrive at the Serengeti Serena for 2 nights including meals. The Olduvai Gorge is commonly referred to as "The Cradle of Mankind". It is a steep-sided ravine in the Great Rift Valley, which stretches along eastern Africa. Olduvai is in the eastern Serengeti Plains in northern Tanzania. It is one of the most important prehistoric sites in the world and has been instrumental in furthering our understanding of early human evolution.

The Serengeti ecosystem is one of the oldest on earth. The essential features of climate, vegetation and fauna have barely changed in the past million years. It is the migration for which Serengeti is perhaps most famous. The wildebeest and zebras make their way south from the northern hills to the southern plains for the short rains every October and November and then turn west and north after the long rains in April, May and June.

Saturday: Return to Arusha
After breakfast transfer to Seronera Airstrip for a flight to Arusha, arriving at lunch time.
