The Old Bakery Inn is located within 5 minutes stroll of the main shopping precinct and close to the business district. The Old Bakery Inn comprises of a collection of old and classified buildings from last century, which have been restored to the original Georgian style, but now incorporating hotel accommodation. The old shop building, fronting the corner of York and Margaret Streets, was originally the "Cataract Bakery" built by Frederick Crosby in 1870 who was a private in the British Army, sentenced to life transportation for desertion. Rooms have been restored in traditional style, but with all modern conveniences.
