Fly Fishing Adventure

The stately Canadian Princess Resort in the beautiful region of Ucluelet on the West coast of Vancouver Island is your base for this fantastic fishing adventure. At the resort, warm hospitality, comfortable accommodation and great food are yours and the sunrises and sunsets over the harbour are simply unbeatable. The resorts own deep sea cruisers with up to 22 passengers take guests to the salmon, halibut and bottom fishing hot spots along Vancouver Island's West Coast on seven hour excursions. Salmon in the area can pass the 30lb mark, while massive halibut can weigh in over 100 lbs.

Return transfer from Vancouver to Vancouver Island by chartered plane.
Accommodation for three nights.
Three seven-hour fishing excursions with bait and tackle and the cleaning and packing of all catches, but not the cost of transporting them home.

Day 1: UK - Calgary - Banff (D)
Join your flight to Calgary. On arrival at Calgary airport you will be met and transferred to Banff. On arrival check in to the magnificent Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel, styled after a Scottish baronial castle in the heart of the Canadian Rockies. Scenic FreeChoice Dining. Choose where to dine from a selection of restaurants in Banff. Two Night Stay: The Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel.

Day 2: Banff (B)
Scenic FreeChoice Inclusions. This morning you are free to choose one of the following activities, included in the tour at no extra cost (1) Guided Nature Hike with an expert naturalist; or (2) 9 Holes of Golf at Banff Springs Hotel; or (3) A gondola ride to the top of 2,290 metre Sulphur Mountain; or (4) A float trip on the Bow River; or (5) A 1 hour cruise and view Devil's Gap - a glacial path carved through Lake Minnewanka; or (6) Horse riding through the Cave and Basin and along the Bow River. This evening is at leisure.

Day 3: Emerald Lake - Lake Louise (BD)
After a relaxed morning, continue to Emerald Lake, this spectacular glacial fed lake glistens with the blue-green hue of an emerald. Continue to Natural Bridge, where the Kicking Horse River has carved out a bridge through solid rock. Check in for dinner and overnight accommodation at the stunning Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise, the "Jewel in the Crown" of the Canadian Rockies for dinner and overnight. Scenic FreeChoice Dining. Day 4: Athabasca Glacier, Ice Explorer - Jasper (BD)
Today enjoy breathtaking mountain scenery along the Icefields Parkway, acclaimed as one of the most spectacular journeys in the world. Stop at the Columbia Icefield, where you'll take the 'Ice Explorer' onto the mighty Athabasca Glacier. Day's end finds us at the picturesque Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge. Scenic FreeChoice Dining. Choose where to dine from a selection of restaurants in Jasper. Overnight Stay: The Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge.

Day 5: The Rocky Mountaineer Train - Kamloops (BL)
Early morning transfer to Jasper Railroad Station for a 2 Day rail experience on 'The Most Spectacular Train Trip in the World'. Relax in the comfort of your RedLeaf carriage as the train departs Jasper. Soon you will begin to see the high peaks of the Rockies and breathtaking view of the mountains, lakes and miles upon miles of forest. (Optional upgrade to luxurious GoldLeaf Class is available. Enjoy the west's famous hospitality in the mountain ranges, frontier towns and elegant cities. Visit Calgary's Olympic Park, view the spectacular Rocky Mountains of Banff National Park, Whistler and stunning Lake Louise. This tour will enthrall all with contrasts from skyscrapers to beautiful national parks.

Day 1: Arrival in Calgary
Arrive at Calgary's International Airport and make your own way to your downtown hotel. After an individual check-in, the remainder of the day is free to explore the streets of this dynamic city, famous for its annual Stampede. The tour director will check in with you in the afternoon. Overnight in Calgary.

Day 2: Calgary to Banff/Canmore
This morning we set out to meet fellow travellers at breakfast before we tour the sights of Calgary. We admire such landmarks as Fort Calgary and the skyscrapers of the commercial district. Leaving Calgary behind we set our sights on the Rocky Mountains. Experience the majesty of the mountains as we first travel through the foothills and then enter Banff National Park amidst snow-capped peaks, sparkling glaciers and emerald green lakes and see Bow Falls and Tunnel Mountain. Overnight in Canmore. Continental breakfast included.

Day 3: Canmore/Banff
The entire day is at leisure to tour Banff and browse through the many boutiques and specialty shops along Banff Avenue. An optional full-day tour is offered to the Columbia Icefield. From the unsurpassed beauty of Lake Louise we enter rugged wilderness as we travel up the world famous Icefields Parkway, with its breathtaking vistas of dramatic mountain ranges, lush valleys and alpine meadows. At the spectacular Columbia Icefield we board an Ice Explorer (snocoach) that will take us onto the Athabasca Glacier. We return to Banff late in the afternoon. Overnight in Canmore. Continental breakfast included.

Day 4: Canmore to Kamloops
Our drive today is on the famed Trans-Canada Highway, following a route charted by the railroad engineers of the mid 1800s. We continue across the jagged Kicking Horse Pass into British Columbia's Yoho National Park, where we are treated to a dazzling display of vast icefields, deep canyons, dense forests and glacier-fed streams. We continue en route to Glacier National Park where we witness stunning vistas at Rogers Pass. We continue through the Monashee and Selkirk mountain ranges to the rugged interior town of Kamloops. Overnight in Kamloops. Continental breakfast included.

Day 5: Kamloops to Whistler
We can expect a day of dramatic scenery changes when we drive through the ranch lands and head for the coastal mountains. An optional Floatplane Sightseeing Tour over Garibaldi Park gives you an inspiring view of a natural wonder. Or, discover the mountain ecology on an optional Zipline Adventure and ride on a series of cables and suspension bridges. Rest of the day at leisure. Overnight in Whistler. Continental breakfast included.
